- Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH). Hosea Kutako International Airport handles most of Namibia's international arrivals and lies east of Windhoek, roughly 45 minutes by car or arranged transfer.

- Windhoek is compact and simple to find your way around. Transfers, pre-booked taxis and ride-hailing handle most trips, though plenty of visitors pick up a hire car here as the start of a longer Namibian self-drive. Rooms are limited, as in Harare, so book ahead.
- Season
- Out on Namibia's central plateau the climate is dry and the midday sun can be fierce, while October and November evenings stay cool. Pack sun protection for the one and a layer for the other.
