How we think about it
Planning flights to the cricket
Start from the tournament, not the airport
Where you fly depends on which matches you are chasing. Each tournament guide begins with the host cities and works outward to the airports that serve them, so the routing follows your fixtures rather than the other way around.
Gateways then connections
Most cricketing destinations have one or two international gateways and a set of smaller airports reached on a connection. Knowing which is which is usually the difference between a clean itinerary and an awkward one.
Book the long leg first
The long-haul leg into a region is almost always the one that prices up earliest and moves most. Securing it before the short connecting hops is the single habit that saves the most.
Keep planning
